CoQ10 supplements and their importance.
Also referred to as Coenzyme Q10, CoQ10 is a
substance that is widely present across
different cells in the human body. Their role
of CoQ10 in each of these cells is to produce
vast quantities of energy (through aerobic
cellular respiration) that is important for the
growth of the healthy cell, for damage repair
and for maintenance activities in the body.
In addition to acting as a major provider of
energy to the body, CoQ10 is a powerful
antioxidant. It provides adequate protection to
all the cells inside the body against any
possible damage that could be caused by
unwarranted molecules.
When there is a depletion of CoQ10 in the cells
of the body, it becomes difficult for
hardworking vital organs to function at their
optimum levels. Under these circumstances,
additional CoQ10 needs to be supplied
externally. CoQ10 supplements will act as
catalysts and will aide in the proper
functioning of all body parts.
Researchers have observed that CoQ10 (when
present in good volumes) will help vital organs
like the heart. Without them, the normal
functioning of the heart would come to a halt.
Hence the importance of CoQ10 cannot be
undermined at any stage.
Coenzyme Q10 was discovered many decades ago at
the University of Wisconsin, when research was
being done on cells and their functioning. Over
a period of time it was realized that CoQ10 was
in fact very important for a healthy body and
for assisting in the prevention of deadly
illnesses like heart and cardiovascular
diseases.
CoQ10 supplements when taken regularly will
help prevent attacks from free radicals on the
cholesterol levels already present. All this is
made possible thanks to its antioxidant power
which also helps in reserving the all important
Vitamin E present in your system for other
activities required by the body. Thus, Vitamin
E and CoQ10 work together in preventing damage
caused by oxidation.
As a useful provider of energy to vital organs
like the heart, scientists are contemplating
using CoQ10 as a major supplement to boost the
heart’s performance. Of late it has been found
that some prescribed drugs (like the statin
family) are responsible for depleting the
natural contents of CoQ10 present in the body.
Thankfully, these depletions can be prevented
by supplying CoQ10 supplements through
different external sources.
